My name is Melisa Joseph. I work in this after school program where I facilitate sports. What surprises me is the sport I facilitate took me one day of lesson and a few days of training to get basic knowledge. Now that I’m teaching it, it feels great.
If you’re wondering, the sport I teach is Tennis. This program has taught me a lot, for example, why teachers plan and how. Since the program I have been more open at club and community meetings.
I enjoy teaching the kids how to play the game. I am working hard to see that this program is a success and also having to share some success about myself not only in the program but what help I got just by being a part of the program.
Now that I am learning how to do certain things on the computer, I hope that someday I am going to teach it to somebody else.
Some of the places you might find me on the field playing soccer or just watching the guys kick balls or play cricket. Going out can be fun sometimes. What I enjoy most is sending myself into a different world where I will be so far away that I won’t hear anything but the wind and that’s enjoyable
I am Endeavoring Elvinette Wilson. I am the Coordinator and the Life Skills facilitator at the Mon Repos Community After School Program. I am a very organized, self-motivated and goal oriented individual, but I also enjoy working as a team-player. My belief is that since we spend the majority of our lives in the workplace, work should be a pleasant experience.
Since becoming involved in this life changing program, I see this as an opportunity to do something positive, be a role model and as an opportunity to give back to my community by directing the youth of tomorrow. I have been committed to this program from day one.
As the life Skills facilitator, I have learned so much via doing research to share with the students. It has taught me so much about kids. Among the many lessons to be taught, one of the greatest is SELF LOVE.
Since the establishment of the program, I have been a mother, teacher , parent, and a jack of all trades to these students who amaze me day in day out. I am working extremely hard and I am fully committed to see this program survive and flourish through the coming years. It is a darn good experience.
